When it comes to guilty pleasures, donuts are always on top of the list. I don’t know about you, but I can’t resist a tasty donut that melts in your mouth. Considering how popular air fryers are these days, I went on a mission to make the most pillowy donuts but without all that oil. And let’s be honest, donuts are best when fried in oil, but can we make them less oily and equally tasty? YES! This is the recipe you need!

25 oz all-purpose flower 700 g
5.3 oz white granulated sugar 150 g
1 pack fresh yeast 1 pack Instant dry yeast
2 Eggs
8.5 fl oz milk 250 ml
3.5 oz melted butter 100 gr
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of nutmeg
pinch of salt

Directions

1.
First off, if you are using instant yeast, then you don’t need to proof the yeast in advance. I had to do that with mine since I used fresh yeast. Warm the milk and add the yeast and sugar to proof until foamy.

Add all the ingredients into a standing mixer and knead it for about 10 minutes. The dough should be very sticky, so don’t attempt to add more flour.

Let it rise until double in volume, form the donuts, and place them into the previously preheated air fryer for 3-4 Minutes per side at 170 degrees Celsius. I filled mine with Nutella and dipped them in white chocolate ganache, but you can do whatever you desire.
